A Grimsby doctor has exchanged his stethoscope for a golf club after announcing his retirement following 35 years working in the area.

Dr Kori Raj of Humberston, has treated his last patient, bringing to an end a distinguished career that finished with two years at Weelsby View Health Centre, Ladysmith Road.

Dr Raj had spent 33 years as a GP at Hainton Avenue Medical Centre.

Originally from India, he spent time in Edinburgh, Scotland, and Newcastle learning his profession.

While working in Scunthorpe, a job came up at Hainton Avenue, which he gratefully accepted.
