BOSTON
Father of shooting defendant is wounded
The father of David Johnson was shot in the hand last night, just
a day after he sat in a courtroom and watched his son arraigned for
allegedly providing the gun that killed 13-year-old Steven Odom. A
Boston police official who requested anonymity confirmed the attack.
Officers who responded to Delhi Street in Mattapan at 10:20 p.m.
found Johnson's father suffering from a gunshot wound to the hand,
the police official said. He did not know the victim's name, but
court papers identified Johnson's father as Robert Phillips. On
Monday, Johnson, 18, faced charges in the October 2007 killing of
Odom, an eighth-grader who died after Charles Bunch, ...
