Father of shooting defendant is wounded

The father of David Johnson was shot in the hand last night, just a day after he sat in a courtroom and watched his son arraigned for allegedly providing the gun that killed 13-year-old Steven Odom. A Boston police official who requested anonymity confirmed the attack. Officers who responded to Delhi Street in Mattapan at 10:20 p.m. found Johnson's father suffering from a gunshot wound to the hand, the police official said. He did not know the victim's name, but court papers identified Johnson's father as Robert Phillips.
