Two Indian army troopers killed in gunfight in India-controlled Kashmir

SRINAGAR, India-controlled Kashmir, April 7 (Xinhua) -- Two Indian army troopers were killed Sunday night in an ongoing fierce gun fighting between militants and Indian army in Indian- controlled Kashmir, Indian police said Tuesday.

The two troopers got killed Sunday night fighting militants in Maidanpora forests of Kupwara, 105 km north of Srinagar, the summer capital of Indian-controlled Kashmir.

The deceased troopers have been identified as Naik Vipin Thakur and Kamaljeet Singh, police said.
