A father and son from Torpoint have stood side by side for the
first time as serving members of the Royal Navy at HMS Raleigh in
Torpoint.
Petty Officer Michael Sandbrook was among the proud families and
friends watching as his son, also named Michael, marched out on
parade with his fellow- recruits to celebrate the successful
completion of their training course.
Trainee sailor Michael junior, aged 22, joined the Royal Navy in
January.
The former pupil of Torpoint Community College said: "I really
enjoyed the weapons training and the camaraderie between the lads
throughout the course.
"Training was the first phase of the rest of my life. I've got a
long way to go to achieve my goal of ...
