FOR MORE THAN 100 years, the chocolate Easter bunny has been one
of the favored treats of the season.
Most often made of milk chocolate, bunnies, chicks, lambs, eggs
and other springtime symbols have earned their place in the Easter
basket, right alongside the jelly beans and marshmallow Peeps.
So how did the idea of rabbits made of milk chocolate come into
vogue? And how were these cute and tasty creatures made?
Much of the history that follows was traced in the displays of
the Candy Americana Museum and store at Wilbur Chocolate in Lititz.
