Jason Kendall might have scowled a bit, not totally unusual for the Milwaukee Brewers catcher.

But backup catcher Mike Rivera definitely approved when he was told in spring training that he'd be matched up with right-hander Dave Bush during the regular season as a way of getting him regular playing time while resting iron man Kendall.

The first of those times was Saturday night against the National League Central rival Chicago Cubs, and manager Ken Macha plans to use the battery until further notice.

"Right now, Kendall is scuffling with the bat, too, so it'll probably be good to have a day off for him," Macha said.
