A coastal sea life centre in Devon has added two female choughs
to its collection of animals on show to the public.
The new species have moved on to Auk Cliff, the artificial rock
face which is home to puffins and guillemots at Living Coasts in
Torquay.
They have come to the centre in the town's harbourside from its
sister site Paignton Zoo Environmental Park.
The chough is indigenous to the Westcountry and even appears on
the coat of arms for the Duchy of Cornwall.
Living Coasts senior head keeper Tony Durkin said: "The chough is
an iconic bird of the South West coastline.
"It's great to have them here and I think people will love the
chance to see them up close."
