Ah, springtime. Trees abloom in a symphony of color. Grass reborn
on verdant lawns.
And noses dripping, eyes itching, sinuses aching.
For those of us with hay fever - and there's ample evidence our
ranks are growing - this is the season of our discontent. We peer
outside at bursting buds and see . . . the enemy.
But there's no reason these must be months of misery. By
practicing prevention - everything from strategically shuttering
windows to squirting early doses of nasal steroids - hay fever
sufferers can avoid the worst of what spring delivers. And there's
hope the dreaded allergy shot, an ordeal that requires regular
visits to the doctor's office for years, might one day be replaced ...
