Iran waits for "practical changes" from U.S., says president

GENEVA, April 20 (Xinhua) -- Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad said Monday that his country is waiting for "practical " U.S. policy changes so that relations between the two countries could be improved.

"The government of the United States has announced that it is going to introduce basic changes, we welcome these basic changes," Ahmadinejad told a press conference in Geneva.

Ahmadinejad said U.S. policy changes are necessary, but they should be "practical changes."

"We are waiting for practical changes, and we support a dialog based on mutual respect and recognized principles of justice," he said.
