HOUSTON -- If you are lefthanded, breathing with at least one
lung, are under 60 years of age and know how to button a pair of
baseball pants, you, too, can beat the Cincinnati Reds.
Houston's Wandy Rodriguez is the latest left-handed bugaboo to be
tossed in front of the Reds, and the result was a 7-0 Astros victory
Saturday, April 18, that was a study in futility for Cincinnati.
Rodriguez is the third lefthander to beat the Reds this season,
and this one wasn't even fair -- two hits and 10 strikeouts for his
seven innings and no member of the Reds located second base until
the seventh inning.
