Article: Science Festival coming to Cal State East Bay

HAYWARD -- More than 4,000 attendees are expected at Saturday's Science Festival to be held at Cal State East Bay.

The free program is open to the public. It brings together campus students, faculty and area scientists to promote the world of science and technology.

"We want to introduce science to the community, and let them experience science firsthand," said Charlene Lebastchi, festival coordinator.

Lebastchi said 50 activities are scheduled, including a chemistry magic show and physics show.

A nursing program will also be featured, with students providing free blood-pressure checks and diabetes screening.
