Myanmar destroys chemical-dyed pickled tea leaves in Mandalay market

YANGON, April 25 (Xinhua) -- Myanmar has destroyed a total of 145 viss (about 240 kilograms) of chemical-dyed pickled tea leaves on sale in markets of Mandalay as a follow-up measures taken in Yangon's after the authorities imposed ban on dozens of brands of such tea leaves, the local weekly Voice reported Saturday.

A total of 17 shops selling pickled tea leaves in the second largest city were also found with their goods dyed with Auramine O chemical, the Mandalay City Development Committee was quoted as saying.
