Article: NBA playoffs: Good to the last great game

When I first got married, my wife couldn't understand why I spent so much time watching the NBA.

"It's the playoffs," I explained, and for a while she understood.

No more. "The playoffs," she likes to say, "last for two months."

So true. But what a two months they are.

There is always a debate this time of year about which is better, the NCAA tournament or the NBA playoffs. It's the wrong question. There is no contest between them. The real question is whether the intensity of the NBA playoffs eclipses all other sporting events.
