HOLMESVILLE -- "Thank you for serving our country. I appreciate
what you have done for the U.S."
So reads the colorful card, decorated with a flag and stars, that
is one of many affixed to a basket of goods to be shipped overseas
to Marines.
The card was made by 11-year-old Anthony Miller, one of several
members of the Holmesville Boy Scout Troop and Cub Scout Pack No.
355. The Scouts all contributed items, including socks, pens, paper,
toiletries, snacks, playing cards and even Kool-Aid, to be packed
into a basket donated for auction at the Holmesville Elementary
School spring fling.
