Notre Dame to give
judge honorary degree
NCAA President Myles Brand, former Purdue University president
Steven Beering and Indiana Chief Justice Randall T. Shepard, an
Evansville native, will join President Barack Obama in receiving
honorary degrees from the University of Notre Dame next month.
Cindy Parseghian, daughter-in-law of former Notre Dame football
coach Ara Parseghian, also will receive an honorary degree from the
school. She and her husband, Michael, co-founded a foundation to try
to find a cure for Niemann-Pick Type C disease, a rare and fatal
genetic disorder that struck three of their four children.
