Three members of the Greater Latrobe school board face four
challengers with four, four-year seats open in the May 19 primary
election.
Kathryn Elder, Rhonda Laughlin and Claude Myers all cross-filed
on the Democratic and Republican tickets, along with challengers
William Palmer Jr., Eric Hauser, Patrick Landry and Simon
Chamberlain.
Elder said her 27-year tenure on the board and her background as
a former teacher at McKeesport School District have prepared her for
continued service to the district.
"Working in this way with district administration, teachers and
students keeps you looking to the future with a positive
perspective," said Elder, 70, of Unity.
