Ian Snell's bloated pitch count from a previous outing caught up
with him Tuesday night in the Pirates 8-5 loss against the Milwaukee
Brewers.
Snell (1-4) lasted just five-plus innings and allowed five runs
and four hits. The right-hander walked five and struck out two.
"I gave all I had," Snell said. "That's all I had. I didn't have
anything over 94-95 (pitches) in my tank, period."
After tossing a career-high 131 pitches in seven innings six days
earlier against the Brewers, Snell was only slightly better last
night. He threw 94 pitches, 51 for strikes.
Did that last outing sap his energy?
