Article: Three to receive honorary doctorates from Cal State East Bay

HAYWARD -- Cal State East Bay plans to honor a philanthropist, an
accomplished author and a corporate board member during commencement
ceremonies June 13 and 14 on the school's campuses in Hayward and
Concord, university officials said.
Receiving honorary doctorate degrees will be:
-- Leo Fontana, 85, known as the "father of modern Antioch" for
his influence on the growth and development of the city.
-- Khaled Hosseini, 44, author of the international best-selling
novel "The Kite Runner," which has sold more than 10 million copies
in 48 countries.
-- Scott Kriens, 51, chairman of Sunnyvale-based Juniper
