Three local economic development leaders will accompany the
Pittsburgh Symphony Orchestra as it tours China this month to try to
spark investments in Pittsburgh-area businesses.
Roger Cranville of the Pittsburgh Regional Alliance will travel
with the symphony from Sunday through May 20, as will Allegheny
County Airport Authority Executive Director Brad Penrod and the
county's economic development director, Dennis Davin.
The three plan to meet with Chinese business leaders and key
officials as part of the alliance's efforts to help land
opportunities in China, South Korea and Taiwan for local companies,
and to seek major Asian investments here.
