Cornwall maintained their interest in the Minor Counties Knock
Out with a convincing 149-run win against Herefordshire at Truro
yesterday.
With games at Berkshire next Sunday, and Wiltshire at St Austell
at the end of the month, quarter-final qualification is still on for
Tom Sharp and his men.
Yesterday's win at Boscawen Park was based on an impressive
batting performance led by a Keith Parsons century in the imposing
50-over total of 311 for six, equalling Cornwall's second highest
ever total in the competition.
The visitors made a lively start but Cornwall's bowlers took
control with Ben Smeeth taking five wickets. Victory was completed
with eight overs to spare.
