I was sorry to read that a wheelchair, blue badge along with their car was stolen from the Armishaw's (Citizen, May 4).

As a campaigner on access issues, misuse of blue badges is one soap box. I was told the disabled lady who was clamped did in fact walk 500 yards out of the Peel centre to a toilet?

Having heard council officials say 25% of badges are abused, I hope with a stolen blue badge out there somewhere traffic enforcement officer will be checking names on badge as well as respectfully ...
