Article: Martial arts: Black belt honour for Stoke starlets

Aiming High: Five martial arts starlets have done Stoke UTA Taekwondo Club proud by kicking and punching their way to black belts.

The club's latest black belt recipients are 13-year-old Oliver Spender, from Alsager, Toby Hayhurst, aged 11, Tessa Hayhurst, aged 13, also from Alsager, Brad Bergamini, aged 11, from Werrington and 12-year-old Bethany Johnson from Sneyd Green.

In winning their eighth and most prestigious belt to date the youngsters had to pass a gruelling all-day exam in Manchester.
