A nurse who left a heart attack patient to die alone and used the
wrong syringe on a woman can keep her job after a misconduct panel
put her mistakes down to a "lack of judgement".
Anitha Kuttappan, 42, admitted leaving a patient waiting for a
scan at the Royal Devon & Exeter Hospital in January, 2006. The 43-
year-old man, known as 'Patient A', died hours later after repeated
attempts to resuscitate him failed, the Nursing and Midwifery
Council has heard.
Ms Kuttappan also used the wrong syringe on 'Patient B', 41, at
the RD&E in July, 2006.
The nurse, who has 15 years' nursing experience, admitted a
series of charges during a long-running NMC case.
