Plymouth responded positively and well to the discovery of a home-
grown Islamic terrorist in its midst, a Home Office Minister told a
conference on violent extremism.
There were some important lessons to learn from how Plymouth
handled the Nicky Reilly case, Vernon Coaker (pictured right) said.
"The enemy is not Islam - the enemy is terrorism. That's a point
we have to make continually," Mr Coaker told the regional conference
in the Holiday Inn in Plymouth.
The conference comes a year after Nicky Reilly, from Stonehouse,
attempted to blow up a cafe in Exeter.
