They say the third time's a charm.That certainly applies to
my third trip to Colorado's Frying Pan River. For Angus Boezeman, a
first trip to the American West reinforced his theory that fish are
fish. We both had a ball.
Peering out the window of the propeller-driven airplane crossing
the continental divide, I was seriously worried that winter had
lingered too long west of Denver. As the clouds surrounded the plane
again, I hoped we would not be forced to return to the big city on
the edge of the prairie.
When the clouds broke again, the dry, snowless valley that holds
a river rated as a "gold medal" fishery came into view.
