HEART KIDS WEEK 2009 Sunday, May 24 to Saturday, May 30 ---------
----------- Heidi Stephenson turns one this month, but already knows
operating theatres and hospitals well.
Heidi, who was born with heart problems, has already had two
serious operations, including heart surgery 12 weeks ago, which has
left a long scar down her tiny chest.
Heart Children New Zealand's annual appeal week runs from May 24
to 30.
The charity provides care and support for families like Heidi's
who have to juggle existing work and family commitments to travel to
hospitals like Auckland's Starship hospital where their children
undergo surgery.
