Article: VINCENNES FORD DEALERSHIP TO CLOSE

Another Tri-State vehicle agency, Vincennes (Ind.) Ford, plans to close its doors later this month.

The news follows that of Broerman Chevrolet, which recently announced it will close June 1 in Poseyville, Ind. Vincennes Ford has been in business since fall 2003.

Doug Abbett, the agency's owner, said: "We regret to announce that the slowdown in the economy and the current automotive market conditions have made it necessary for Vincennes Ford to close permanently on May 23."

About 30 full-time and part-time employees will be affected, he said.

"A limited number of employees will remain on the staff for a short time after May 23 as final administrative procedures are implemented," Abbett said.
