Awards
The Greater Baltimore Committee presented Andres Alonso, CEO of
the Baltimore City Public School System, with the Howard "Pete"
Rawlings Courage in Public Service Award. Robert C. Embry Jr.,
president of The Abell Foundation, received the GBC's Walter
Sondheim Public Service Award. Also, the Baltimore Ravens received
the GBC's 13th Annual Regional Visionary Award.
The Maryland Department of the Environment awarded Brian Hug the
Employee of the Year Award. Hug was recognized for his initiatives
to improve air quality, including first-time efforts to address
climate change in Maryland. MDE honored three other Employee of the
