The family of a couple killed in a head-on car crash say they cannot understand how the accident happened.

Gillian Underwood, 53, and her partner of eight years, Jason Duffield, 45, both of west Hull, died at the scene on the A17, near King's Lynn last Friday.

They had been on their way to collect some furniture for a new house they were buying together in Hull when they collided with an articulated lorry. The lorry driver was uninjured.

Gillian's son Martin and daughter Corrinna said they had been told by police Jason was overtaking another vehicle at the time of the accident.

Martin, 27, of east Hull, said: "It is hard for us to understand what happened.
