It's been far from business as usual for entrepreneurs in
downtown Irwin since a state-mandated sewer-separation project
started.
In fact, it could drive some out of business, said Tom Witman,
the owner of Tee Square.
Engineer Lucian Bove asked Witman and other business owners to be
patient. Although it could take up to two months per block, Main
Street should wrap up in August, Bove said.
Rude construction workers, inconsistent traffic flow, uneven
pavement, misplaced piles of stones, debris and Porta-Johns have
plagued the entire downtown area, making vehicular and foot traffic
difficult, Witman said.
