Exeter mp Ben Bradshaw has waded into the row over proposed
changes to Devon's council authorities.
The Exeter MP condemned comments made by county councillor
David Cox, who said proposals made by the Boundary Committee,
which is overseeing changes to local government in the county,
should include an option for an authority which oversees the Exe
area, and Exeter should have a parish council within that.
Such a proposal would see a massive reduction in the size and
status of Exeter's council.
"Surely the only fair thing is for Exeter City Council to become
a parish council, rather like Truro, to maintain its civic pride,
