The Joint Economic Development Organization of Topeka and Shawnee
County has decided once again that keeping jobs already in the
community is an important function worth a sizeable investment.
We would tend to agree with the JEDO board members even in good
economic times. Given the uncertain waters the nation's economy is
trying to navigate now, we toss them a hearty vote of support.
U.S. Food Service and Goodyear Tire and Rubber Co. will be the
recipients of a combined $1.5 million in incentives for major
expansion projects at their plants on US-24 highway. JEDO board
