Article: McAuliffe makes his pitch to Petersburg

PETERSBURG -- Just 11 days before the Democratic primary, gubernatorial candidate Terry McAuliffe came to Petersburg yesterday to fire up voters. "We need someone in Richmond to shake things up, and I'm your man," McAuliffe told his supporters at a gathering at Longstreet's Deli.

McAuliffe also managed to pick up an endorsement by a local city official -- Clerk of Court Benjamin O. Scott gave McAuliffe his support for June 9. "Until a couple of days ago, I had not made up my mind," Scott said. But after reading McAuliffe's program and his book "What a Party!" he had made his choice.
