Article: Miami Valley GC will try to total 90 on its 90th

The Miami Valley Golf Club, which has perhaps the richest tradition of any club in the Dayton area, will celebrate its 90th anniversary Wednesday evening, June 3, with a 90-minute golf exercise and a dinner party.

Many longtime members will participate in the event during which they will try to escort a single golf ball through 18 holes with 90 strokes in 90 minutes.

Colin Miller, head golf professional, said members will be assigned locations on specific holes from which they will strike the ball. For instance, a person will be waiting at the landing area to take the second shot when the drive comes to rest.

Others will be near the green to chip and putt in the race against the clock. ...
