Article: Crossroads gets state funding to expand?

NEW HAVEN -- Crossroads Inc., a nonprofit treatment center, will be able to build a residential treatment center for women, thanks to $2.1 million in state bond funding.

The center, to be built at 2 S. Genesee St., will be 26,000 square feet.

State Sen. Martin M. Looney, D-New Haven, said he has worked for 10 years for the funding.

"I am thrilled it is now a reality," he said. "Crossroads will now be able to improve the services it offers its clients. This has huge ramifications, not only for their lives, but for their families and the community."
