Sophie de Turckheim has been working at Trentham Monkey Forest
since it first opened its gates in 2005. Originally from Strasbourg,
France, here the 37-year-old talks about living and working at the
Monkey Forest with her husband Guillaume and sharing her life with
140 Barbary Macaques.
Why did you decide to work at the Monkey Forest?
Well, being married to Guillaume, whose father started the Monkey
Forests, was a big deciding factor. I was previously working for the
Council Of Europe, but together Guillaume and I decided it would be
nice to try to work together.
What does your job involve?
