Article: Saga not over for Velleggia's Italian Seafood Restaurant in Baltimore

Though the only bid placed on Velleggia's Italian Seafood Restaurant at Wednesday's foreclosure auction came from a creditor, there appears to be interest in the property from at least one prospective buyer from outside the food industry.

With more than 20 people looking on, but not bidding, Dominion Financial Services LLC, took full possession of the property for $1.2 million at the auction inside the South High Street property that was home to Velleggia's for more than seven decades.

"We tried for over a year to work something out," said Fred J. Lewis, principal of Dominion Group, the parent company of Dominion Financial Services. "We were forced to go down this path."
