School leaders are ramping up a push for another parcel tax in
Albany, hoping to soften the impact of state budget cuts next school
year.
Volunteers will go from door to door this weekend to find out how
community members feel about having another school parcel tax on the
November ballot. Albany district officials say the measure is
crucial if residents want to avoid additional cuts in school staff
and programs.
"It would be lovely if there was some other way for local
districts to raise money when the state has abandoned us, but there
