A strong wind was blowing and a heavy rain was getting ready to fall one day this week.

But Mount Joy Township Supervisor Gerald Cole was still smiling as he stood at an elevated spot in the far southern corner of the township, on the edge of Mount Joy.

That was because he was looking all around at a huge, oval- shaped swath of green.

And it's a swath of green open space that Cole and others in the township, and the Mount Joy region, envision as "just a great, great recreation site for the people in this area," as Cole said.

It's called Cove Outlook Park, and Saturday's ribbon-cutting will be just the start, excited Mount Joy Township officials said.
