Very Important Premiers
Penn Avenue was jammed with its usual bumper-to-bumper line of 9-
to-5ers blowing the whistle on their Wednesday workday, but inside
the O'Reilly Theater, more than 500 show-stoppers created their own
gridlock on the red carpet during the Pittsburgh Public Theater's
inaugural VIP (Very Important Premieres) Party.
A white-tented VIR (very important reception) provided some up-
close and personal encounters with a full house of fellow thespians,
but more importantly, saved us from singing in the rain thanks to
Mother Nature's decision to temporarily close the curtain on what we
were hoping was going to be an intermission-free summer. "We
