Obama, Merkel tour former Nazi concentration camp

WEIMAR, Germany, June 5 (Xinhua) -- Visiting U.S. President Barack Obama and German Chancellor Angela Merkel on Friday toured the former Nazi concentration camp Buchenwald while both of them stressed the importance to draw lessons from history.

An estimated 56,000 mainly Jewish people perished at the Buchenwald concentration camp before it was liberated in April 1945.
