New Kids on the Block fans --who are overwhelmingly 20- and 30- something women -- still participate in a playful adolescent contest, fueled by their obsession with the now-grown boy band that is coming to the Post-Gazette Pavilion on Thursday.

The game goes like this: One woman will confidently proclaim, "I'm the bigger fan!" Then, another woman, with an ever bigger stash of New Kids paraphernalia, will retort, "No, I'm the bigger fan!"
