REAL Madrid could have bought the entire playing staff of ten
Scottish Premier League clubs and still had GBP 10 million change
from the GBP 80m outlay they are expected to use to sign Cristiano
Ronaldo.
The combined total valuation of the 110 players that started the
final SPL fixture of the 2008-09 season for the ten top-flight sides
outwith the Old Firm is GBP 68,704,000 according to the European
football website www.transfermarket.co.uk.
Champions Rangers can boast a transfer total of just over GBP 40m
from the 11 players who started their league-clinching match at
Tannadice, while Celtic's combined valuation, based on the team that
took the field against Hearts at Parkhead, is GBP ...
