Dear Cindy,
My husband and I disagree on the subject of breathing and
exercise. I say you should pay attention to the way you breathe when
you work out, and he has the opinion that our bodies take care of
the breathing and that it is involuntary. So, can you clear this up

I love your question. You are right when you say learning to
breathe properly, or paying attention, while exercising is important
and helps us reap the physical benefits when there is an adequate
amount of oxygen penetrating deep into our lungs. So breathe a sigh
of relief. However, your husband is also partially correct when he
