A building is only as good as the people that inhabit it, or at
least that's the philosophy behind the Leftbank Project, a
sustainable renovation project on Portland's east side that is
attracting green-driven tenants.
The brainchild of developer Daniel Deutsch, the building now
known as Leftbank was originally three buildings: an auto garage
built in 1920, the A.E. Doyle-designed Hazelwood building built in
1923, and a structure built in 1949 by Mutual Wholesale Drug Co.,
which unified the structures and opened connections between them to
create a single building at 240 N. Broadway. Over the years,
