Article: Summer concerts coming to area parks

The official start of summer isn't until June 21, but area cities have already planned a music-filled calendar of events for residents.

Whittier, Santa Fe Springs, Pico Rivera, La Mirada, La Habra Heights, Montebello and La Habra are offering free musical entertainment at their parks.

They will feature an array of musical acts, playing rock 'n' roll, oldies, salsa and more fit for all ages.

In Whittier, concerts will be held from 7 to 8:30 p.m. every Monday from July 6 through Aug. 10 at Central Park, 6532 Friends Ave., in Uptown.

Another day of concerts in Whittier is scheduled from 7 to 8:30 p.m. Thursdays from July 9 through Aug. 13 at Parnell Park, 15390 Lambert Road.
