The inspiration for starting his decorative railing business came
to Jim Avery while vacationing in Italy in 2002.
There he observed many decorative railings on buildings and
homes. He thought to himself, "I could do that."
He developed a machine for bending three-eighths metal bars to
achieve the serpentine patterns in the decorative metal railings.
Another machine he came up with did the scroll work. Avery
demonstrated a machine that can bend a steel bar like a piece of
rubber.
Avery eventually added some high tech to the machine by
controlling the operation with a computer.
Starting in a garage on Central Avenue, Avery Railing & Metal
