Article: Benches to come in handy if memories need jogging

Last August, students at Adams Elementary School got to dip their hands in brightly colored paint and press them against freshly painted hallway walls.

Their legacy, though, appeared as though it would be short- lived, when Colorado Springs School District 11 decided to close Adams at the end of this month.

But as the school prepared for the community farewell event it hosted Friday evening, Principal Linda Hunt-Stone came up with a plan to send student handprints to their new school, Hunt Elementary.

Students - and teachers, former students and parents - trooped
