The Royal Cornwall Show is renowned for displays of hi-tech
machinery, but the county's longest-established oil delivery company
chose the event to show off a much more venerable piece of
engineering. At the centre of Mitchell and Webber's award-winning
show stand is its newly restored 1948 Bedford tanker and to
celebrate the completion of this year-long labour of love, the
company is launching a children's design competition. Company
director John Weedon said: "The Bedford was delivering oil for our
company back in the 1950s. We've had so much fun restoring her to
her former glory, we thought Cornwall's primary children might enjoy
