Article: Rejection urged for San Leandro Hospital plan

SAN LEANDRO -- San Leandro Hospital's prospects for remaining open indefinitely didn't improve this week, but 500 hospital advocates -- equal to a week's worth of patients seen in the hospital's emergency room -- were reassured Monday night that higher- ups are paying attention to their concerns.

The meeting came just hours after the disclosure that Sutter Health will continue to operate the hospital only until Sept. 30 and sign over its purchase option for the hospital to Alameda County.
